Find joy in color and community this San Diego weekend, whether it’s from fresh flowers that only bloom this time of year or a cultural fest that embraces vivid hues. Try music and theater too, or lean into a day that celebrates women.

Daffodil Days is set to begin Friday at Julian Farm & Orchard. Pick a bunch of the sunny yellow blooms that are a sure sign of spring. The farm is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday to Sunday in Wynola. General admission costs $5. Extras include a petting zoo and hayrides. The festival currently is expected to continue through mid-April.

One local theater production heads into its final weekend, while another opens:

  • Scripps Ranch TheatreWhite tells the story of a painter who sets out to show his art at a renowned museum, with the help of his boyfriend and his inner diva, St Diana of Detroit. Three shows remain, through Sunday. Tickets start at $29.
  • Coronado PlayhouseCurtains, a whodunit, but in musical comedy form, opens Friday. In the show-within-a-show, a leading lady mysteriously dies on stage as a new musical opens. The entire cast and crew, of course, are suspects. Tickets cost $27. Curtains continues through March 30.

Looking to pare things down? TinyFest California is the place to begin. Explore options for tiny houses and meet owners, builders and designers as the Del Mar Fairgrounds hosts the two-day festival, beginning Saturday. Tour a variety of examples, including those built by pros and DIYers, from houses on wheels and shipping container homes to vans and bus conversions. Admission is $22.50. Gates open at 10 a.m.

A reward for exercise is sometimes the best motivator. The Original 40 Brewing Company, on University Avenue in North Park, is offering a free all-levels yoga session, Hoppy Yoga, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. And here’s the incentive for sweating and stretching: a post-yoga craft beer social. Participants must bring their own mat. Reserve spots online.

CRY Holi 2025, a Hindu celebration of spring, comes to Miramar College at 11 a.m. Saturday. Enjoy Bollywood tunes, performances by young dancers and Indian food. Guests are asked to wear white for the event, also known as the Festival of Colors and head to the campus’ Hourglass Field. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children.

WNDR San Diego, in collaboration with local artist Sew Loka, hosts the International Women’s Day Market Celebration at 7 p.m. Saturday to showcase the work of more than 20 female vendors. The evening includes live music, DJs and exhibits by artists, YZA, Selena Idioma, Shirish Villasenor and Isabel Aragon among them. Tickets costs $32.

Voices of Mexico, from Bodhi Tree Concerts, features Mariana Flores Bucio and Miguel Zazueta, accompanied by the pianist Iván Mares, performing Mexican art songs, pop, plus arias and duets. The show, at 4 p.m. Sunday, is set for St. James by-the-Sea in La Jolla. General admission costs $30.

Grammy-winner Tyler, The Creator brings his Chromakopia Tour – in support of his 2024 album of the same name – to Pechanga Arena at 7:30 p.m. Sunday with a second show to follow Monday. Lil Yachty and Paris Texas open. Resale tickets are available, starting above $150.
